Dr. Dong is the Director of the Macao Institute of Green and Net-Zero Technologies at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). She also serves as the Vice Chair of the Sustainable Development Committee, and is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Faculty of Innovation Engineering. She obtained her Ph.D. from the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Dong serves as a Subject Editor for the International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment (Impact Factor: 6.1). She is also an editorial board member for four international journals, including the International Journal of Sustainable Engineering, and a reviewer for over 20 journals, such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews and Nature Water.

Her professional appointments include serving as a Director of the China Green Building and Energy Saving (Macau) Association, and as a Committee Member of the Green Building and Energy Saving Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Urban Studies. She has co-authored several key publications, including the Life Cycle Sustainability Encyclopedia, the Blue Book of Low Carbon Development - China Carbon Labeling Development Report, and the Report on the Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Additionally, she has contributed to the drafting of one provincial standard and four group standards.

Dr. Dong has led her research teams to win the First Prize in the 4th Internet+ National Life Cycle Competition and the Second Prize in the 5th National Life Cycle Carbon Neutrality Competition. She has served as a Session Chair for over twenty academic conferences organized by international bodies such as UNEP and SETAC. Furthermore, she has been elected as the Conference Chair for the International Symposium on Advancement of Construction Management and Real Estate (CRIOCM 2027) and the Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) Conference 2028.

Dr. Dong has principal investigator roles in more than ten research projects funded by the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) of Macau and the Macau University of Science and Technology Research Fund. She has published over 80 scientific papers. Her research interests are life cycle assessment, green building, sustainable development, and carbon emissions.
