E-Survey on the Major Revision of BEAM Plus Existing Buildings

The current version of BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Version 2.0 (“EB v2.0”) was launched in June 2016. After 7 years of operation, the scheme is due for a revamp as part of the structured review process.

Over the years, the practices and technologies adopted in green building industry are continuously evolving. Moreover, the new normal after the outbreak of COVID-19 and the change in global sustainability trend have also imposed the need on enhancing the liveability and concern on carbon emissions of the built environment. A new version of assessment scheme is therefore pressing in response to the changing need.

BEAM Society Limited has engaged a consultant to develop an upgraded version of BEAM Plus EB v3.0 with a view to making it more responsive to the need of customers.

Stakeholder engagement is an important milestone for the development of new assessment tool. Your views and experience are therefore valuable and crucial to formulate the assessment framework and measures to encourage participation and reduce environmental impacts on the existing building stocks in Hong Kong.
