BEAM Plus Existing Buildings (Global Version) Version 1.0 aims to transform existing buildings into sustainable and energy-efficient structures, while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. This comprehensive tool encourages active participation in the green building movement, promotes energy-saving measures towards achieving net-zero emissions, and educates stakeholders to drive positive behavioural change.

Under BEAM Plus EB Global v1.0, there are two major schemes: the Comprehensive Scheme and the Selective Scheme. The Comprehensive Scheme adopts the 'Plan-Do-Check-Act' approach to drive continual improvement in building performance. On the other hand, the Selective Scheme recognises and celebrates the efforts made by building management in aged existing buildings, encouraging them to achieve better building performance through the 'Better than yesterday' principle.
