Further to the launch of the BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Version 3.0 (EB v3.0) Assessment Tool in July 2025, the BEAM Plus EB v3.0 Course is now open for registration. Join us now and become an accredited BEAM Professional.
What is BEAM Professional?
A BEAM Pro is a person accredited by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) as being competent to support green building design, construction and operations. BEAM Pro will be responsible for advising the project team on achieving the required credits to attain the client’s desired green building rating level.
What is BEAM Pro Fundamental Course?
The 45-minute web-based video training is available on BEAM Society Limited (BSL)’s Online Training Portal. It aims at equipping participants with knowledge in the BEAM Plus Framework, principles and basic knowledge of BEAM Plus rating tools and procedure of BEAM Plus Submission.
What is BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Training?
As an Elective Course organised by the BSL, it aims at equipping participants with knowledge in green buildings in areas of design, construction, operation, maintenance, as well as the BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Version 3.0 Assessment Tool. Applicants need to attend the training and pass an examination to be accredited as a BEAM Professional.

The programme welcomes architects, engineers, building designers, property managers, housing managers, facility managers, and construction practitioners who are in the process of working towards a professional qualification. Please note that BEAM Pro who have already acquired the BEAM Pro (EB v2.0) credential are not required to re-enrol in this Elective Course or Fundamental Course.

Minimum Qualification Requirement / Prerequisite
Fundamental Course
Candidates are required to meet the minimum entry requirement of BEAM Plus (NB)/(EB)/(BI)/(ND)/(NDC)/(EDC)/(ES).
BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Training and Examination
Candidates must complete the Fundamental Course as a prerequisite and are required to fulfil the minimum qualification requirements as follows:
a) A degree or equivalent in Built Environment related disciplines; plus
A minimum of 3 years postgraduate professional experience; plus
Qualification as a full member of a relevant professional institute (HKIA, HKIE, HKIH, HKILA, HKIP, HKIS, HKIQEP, or equivalent, or possessing the type of membership in a professional body recognised by the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) as acceptable for becoming Tier 1 Property Management Practitioners)
OR
b) A degree or equivalent in Built Environment, Housing Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, and related disciplines; plus
A minimum of 5 years postgraduate professional experience
OR
c) Age 35 or over: plus
At least 10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of green buildings; plus
Applicants must have already attained a managerial position; plus
Submission of a paper (2,000 - 3,000 words in English / 3,000 - 4,000 in Chinese), to demonstrate your comprehensive knowledge and expertise in green building field and contribution to the green building movement. (NOTE)
