Mr Lawsons YUE Chak-sang is the Assistant Director/New Buildings 1 of the Buildings Department.  He is an architect by profession.  He has participated in a variety of innovative initiatives of the Buildings Department such as formulating the In-principal Acceptance System for Modular Integrated Construction, developing BIM automated checking tools and formulating the Roadmap on Adoption of BIM for Building Plan Preparation and Submission promulgated by Development Bureau in late 2023.

Currently, Mr YUE leads and oversees the New Buildings Division in the Buildings Department which deals with applications for plan approval, consent and occupation permit for private developments.  Mr YUE works in close partnership with building professionals and conducts regular reviews of regulations and standards to keep the building control system in tandem with the advancement in technology as well as the practice and needs of the industry and public aspiration.
