BSL is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Board of Directors, effective following the conclusion of its 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 12 Jun 2025. Sr Frankie SO Hung Fai will continue to serve as Chairperson of the Board. We are confident that, under the continued presidency of Sr SO and the leadership of a diverse Board, BSL will continue to grow from strength to strength, further advancing our role in accelerating global sustainable development.

Invitation to BEAM Plus Existing Buildings (EB) v3.0 Launch Ceremony

To reshape the paradigm of green existing buildings, the BEAM Plus EB will soon be upgraded to Version 3.0, through conducting wider engagement, advancing carbon footprint management towards net-zero emissions, and fostering tenant engagement to induce behavioural change. All BEAM Practitioners and industry players in the building and construction sector are cordially invited to attend the official launch ceremony online on 7 Jul 2025, to witness this significant milestone and gain valuable insights from the pilot projects.

Under the witness of Mr Nicholas HO Lik-chi, Commissioner for Belt and Road of the Government of the HKSAR; Ms Kathy CHIU Kam-hing, JP, Honorable Consul of Djibouti Consulate in Hong Kong, and Mr FUNG Yiu Man, Frankie, Principal Assistant Secretary (Project Capability and Strategy) of the Development Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR, the first BEAM Plus Existing Buildings (EB) (Global Version) was presented to the Djibouti Special Promotion Complex of the China Merchants Group at the Certificate Ceremony on 16 Jun 2025. Members Networking Cocktail 2025
The Members Networking Cocktail 2025 concluded successfully on 12 Jun at the BEC Exhibition Hall, Jockey Club Environmental Building. A special souvenir presentation was held to express our sincere gratitude to the retiring directors in recognition of their valuable service and contributions to the Board. Another highlight of the evening was the official launch of BSL’s 15th Anniversary celebrations, marked by the unveiling of the anniversary logo, signifying the beginning of a series of commemorative initiatives throughout the year.

CPD Training - The Henderson - Behind the Scenes
14 May 2025
BSL organised a CPD visit on 14 May for BEAM Practitioners and members to The Henderson – a landmark 36-storey commercial skyscraper in Hong Kong, which has achieved Provisional Platinum rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings v1.2. During the visit, speakers from Henderson Land Development Company Limited - Mr Vincent YEUNG, Project Manager and Ms Sherry ZHENG, Deputy Project Manager guided our delegation through the building and gave an in-depth presentation detailing the sustainable building and landscape design, as well as the technological breakthrough of the project.
The 21st International Conference on Green and Energy-Efficient Building & Low-Carbon and Resilient Urban and Rural Science Technology Expo

BSL and the Hong Kong Green Building Council co-hosted a parallel session titled "Leveraging BEAM Plus to Boost the Greater Bay Area’s International Green Building Leadership in Sustainable, Low-Carbon, and Resilient Urban-Rural Development" on the occasion at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The session brought together esteemed experts from the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau to share their experiences in using BEAM Plus Assessment Tools to enhance the sustainable performance of buildings, as well as to discuss the upcoming policies and initiatives that will be rolled out beyond Hong Kong later this year.
CPD Training - Joint-Institutional Sharing Session on Compliance Assessment (CA)
29 May 2025
BSL hosted a joint-institutional online sharing session on CA on 29 May, attracting over 200 participants from The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, The Hong Kong Institute of Planners, and The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors. Speakers of the BSL including Ir CS HO, Chief Executive Officer; Ms Caterina CHOI, Head of Development & Technical Secretariat and Mr Leo CHAN, Manager of Development & Technical Secretariat introduced the assessment procedures and key features of CA, as well as the multiple phase CA that is eligible for all BEAM Plus New Buildings v2.0 projects upon request.
CPD Training - Technical Visit to The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong - BEAM Plus Final Platinum Projects

A group of BSL members and industry practitioners visited The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, which was recognised as the organisation with the highest number of BEAM Plus Final Platinum projects in 2017. The delegation toured the university’s iconic campus buildings certified with the highest Platinum rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings, to gain insights into its sustainable design and environmental practices implemented across the campus.
iBEAM Unison Launch & Showcase
26 Jun 2025
BSL hosted the iBEAM Unison Launch & Showcase Event on 26 Jun at the Centre for Future Construction, HKIC Kowloon Bay Campus. This milestone marked the completion of all modules of the iBEAM Unison platform—an advanced data solution designed to revolutionise green building data exchange, analysis, and sustainability assessment, supported by the Construction Industry Council Research and Technology Development Fund (CIC R&D Fund). During the event, Mr Tim LO, Head of Business & System Development of BSL introduced and demonstrated the use of iBEAM Unison’s sustainability tools, followed by a pilot project sharing session presented by Mr Kingsley CHAN, BIM Manager of Gammon Construction Limited.
