BEAM Society Limited (BSL)’s 11th Anniversary Dinner |
|
The 11th Anniversary Dinner of BSL was successfully concluded on 11 November 2021. Over 200 guests gathered for the Dinner, including the Guests of Honour - Mr Michael WONG Wai-lun, JP, Secretary for Development and Mr WONG Kam-sing, GBS, JP, Secretary for the Environment, as well as industry practitioners and the government officials across various departments.
BSL also took the opportunity to express sincere appreciation to the retired directors and committee members for their significant contributions to BSL. The built environment in Hong Kong would not have been more sustainable without the staunch support and encouragement from fellows in the green building industry.

BEAM Plus Certification Ceremony 2021
|
|
Co-organised by BSL and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), BEAM Plus Certification Ceremony 2021 took place at Hong Kong Productivity Council on 16 December 2021. Under the witness of Officiating Guests, Mr LIU Chun-san, JP, Under Secretary for Development and Mr TSE Chin-wan, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for the Environment, over 200 industry professionals and experts participated in the Ceremony. The number of certified projects had reached a record high of more than 150.

ReThink HK 2021
BSL joined ReThink HK 2021 as one of the event sponsors and met key players of the green building industry at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
With the theme of “Unleashing Environmental Resiliency and Social Innovation in Existing Buildings”, BSL hosted a workshop on 5 October 2021. Our guest speakers shared their insights on the standards, policies and incentives necessary to assist existing buildings in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area to achieve decarbonisation, environmental resiliency and social innovation. |

Eco Expo Asia 2021
As one of the supporting organisations, BSL joined the Eco Expo Asia 2021, under the theme of “promoting green recovery for carbon neutrality” on 27-30 October 2021.
BSL took the opportunities to promote our organisation and BEAM Plus assessment tools, as well as to demonstrate our newly launched assessment automation system, iBEAM to all visitors. We are also happy to be certified as “Green Exhibitor” at the Fair by adopting different green initiatives in our booth set up, e.g. usage of electronic devices and honeycomb board for display. |

“BEAM Plus Data Centres” featured in TVB’s programme “Innovation GPS (創科導航)”
BSL has been invited by Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) to conduct an interview featuring “BEAM Plus Data Centres v1.0” in the programme “Innovation GPS” in November 2021.
In the interview, Ir Victor CHEUNG Chi-kong, Convenor of BEAM Plus Data Centres Steering Committee and Ir CS HO, General Manager of BSL introduced the newly launched assessment tools and explained how that could bring positive impact to sustainable development. |

BSL’s First-ever iBEAM Training Workshop for Green Building Industry Practitioners
Presented by the System Development Department, BSL’s first-ever iBEAM Training Workshop was successfully held on 18 November 2021. With the aid of live guidance, around 30 representatives from different BEAM consultant firms gained first-hand experience in adopting the assessment automation system to carry out a BEAM Plus project assessment submission. |

IMS Policy and IMS Objectives
BSL is committed to providing BEAM Plus assessment services, managing the environmental and health & safety implications of its services, and ensuring continuous improvement of its management system through the established IMS Policy. This Policy has been reviewed and confirmed by the Board of Directors that it is appropriate to the purpose and context of BSL and supports its strategic direction.
In order to measure the achievement of, and progress towards achieving, the Management Policy, BSL has identified specific objectives and targets. These targets and objectives are communicated with all interested parties via the BSL website and are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure their continued suitability. |
