BEAM Society Limited (BSL) is thrilled to announce that BEAM Plus New Buildings v2.0 is officially launched on 4 September 2019.

The upgraded tool follows the success of previous versions and includes major revision to the assessment guidelines, in response to the evolving industry development and comments from the stakeholders. The enhanced version is more human centric and embraces more integrated green building design.

To celebrate the occasion, the Launch Ceremony of BEAM Plus NB v2.0, organised by the BSL and Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), took place at Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) on 4 September 2019. Mr TSE Chin-wan, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for the Environment and Mr John KWONG Ka-sing, Principal Government Engineer, Development Bureau, HKSARG, officiated the ceremony as the Guests of Honour. Over 100 industry professionals, experts, project owners and press media attended the ceremony in support of the launch.
  
 
BEAM Pro who wish to have their BEAM Pro (NB) qualification upgraded to 2.0 will be required to complete the Upgrade Training Course no later than 31 October 2021. BEAM Plus New Buildings (NB) Upgrade Training Course in October is now open for registration on BSL's Online Training Portal.

BEAM Plus New Buildings v2.0 – Stakeholders Sharing Session

Practitioners were provided with insights into the basis of the manual update and the highlights of the enhancement.

A briefing session on comprehensive review on performance-based energy benchmarking was arranged by BSL to allow BEAM practitioners to gain better understanding on the changes regarding the adjustments to the energy use point scale under different BEAM Plus rating tools.
