The 8th AGM of BEAM Society Limited (BSL) will be held on 13 June 2019 (Thursday) at 7:00pm at the Conference Hall, 4/F, HKPC Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong. Notice of meeting will be issued to all Ordinary Members in May 2019. |

On 1 January 2019, CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd has launched the CLP Subsidy Scheme for BEAM Plus, which aims to subsidise non-profit-making schools and other registered charitable organisations to achieve green building certification in energy aspect. BSL welcomes the launch of this scheme, which administers and develops BEAM Plus Assessment Tools. |

BEAM Plus Certification Ceremony 2018
BEAM Plus Certification Ceremony 2018 concluded with great success at Cordis, Hong Kong on 13 December 2018. Mr Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, Secretary for the Environment and Mr LIU Chun-san, JP, Under Secretary for Development attended the ceremony as the Officiating Guests.

HKGBC Towards Low Carbon & Healthy City Award Presentation Ceremony
BSL received an Appreciation Award of Health & Wellbeing Study in Offices at HKGBC Towards Low Carbon & Healthy City Award Presentation Ceremony, organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) at Business Environment Council (BEC) Auditorium, Jockey Club Environmental Building (JCEB) on 17 December 2018.

Technical Visit at the Offices of BSL, HKGBC and JCEB
About 40 students from Interior Design Programme of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) visited JCEB on 4 March 2019. The offices of BSL and HKGBC located at this Building have achieved the Platinum rating under BEAM Plus Interiors v1.0. Representatives from BEC, HKGBC and Telemax Environment and Energy Management Limited shared the green features of the projects and the challenges encountered. |

BSL's spring dinner was held at Jasmine, Langham Place, Mong Kok on 12 March 2019. BSL's Directors and staff enjoyed a pleasant evening with the decent Chinese cuisine. |

Technical Visit to EcoPark & WEEE ∙ PARK
10 January 2019
Over 30 participants joined the site tour to the EcoPark, which is one of the HKSAR Government’s initiatives to promote the sustainable development of the local recycling industry through public education. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) signifies the Government’s commitment towards sustainable use of resource and provides as an essential infrastructure support in waste treatment.

Application of Computer Simulation in Green Buildings: Principle and Methodology

Mr Tim Lo from BSL and Mr Nelson Choi from BEC demonstrated how the computer simulation monitored the energy performance and thermal comfort in order to provide a comfortable working environment and a more liveable environment.

The 3rd BEAM Plus Standards Enhancement Roundtable

To increase the accountability, consistency and transparency of the BEAM Plus Assessment Standards, BSL organised the 3rd BEAM Plus Standards Enhancement Roundtable. Around 50 BEAM practitioners participated in the Roundtable.
