Low‑Carbon Building Innovation Centers Launched in Guangzhou
The National Center of Technology Innovation for Green and Low‑Carbon Building Greater Bay Area Base and the Low‑Carbon Buildings Joint Research Center were officially launched in Guangzhou on 3 December. The platforms, jointly developed by institutions across Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and neighbouring provinces, will drive low‑carbon building innovation across the region. Sr Frankie SO Hung Fai represented BEAM Society Limited (BSL) as one of the officiating guests, underscoring BSL’s commitment to advancing green building development in the Greater Bay Area.
Guangzhou Design Week 2025
Chief Executive Officer of BEAM Society Limited (BSL), Ir CS HO, attended the Guangzhou Design Week “Sustainable Design Award · 2025 Platinum Award” ceremony and served as a judge, exchanging forward‑looking ideas on green and sustainable interior design. The event brought together leading designers and sustainability advocates to share insights on green and low‑carbon design. Jointly organised by Guangzhou Design Week, TUSCEN Custom Home Co., Ltd., and over 20 international consulates and green organisations, it formed part of the Sustainable Design Practice Programme, promoting innovation, cross‑sector collaboration, and the application of sustainable principles across the built environment.

Event Highlights
Delegation Visited Green Enterprises in Xinhui, Jiangmen
17 October 2025
Led by Ir CS HO, Chief Executive Officer of BEAM Society Limited (BSL), a delegation comprising members of the Technical Review Committee, Assessment Sub-committee, Standards Sub-committee, Development Sub-committee and the BEAM Expert Panel visited green enterprises in Xinhui, Jiangmen. The team toured YiXiang ChenPi Co., Ltd. and Lee Kum Kee (Xinhui) Food Co., Ltd., gaining insights into sustainable practices such as zero-carbon dried tangerine peel production, geothermal energy utilisation and energy-saving technologies like artificial wetlands. The visit showcased the integration of green technologies into both traditional and modern industries, reinforcing BSL’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
Opening Ceremony of the Joint University Eco-Business Innovation Award (eBIA) 2025–2026
6 November 2025
The Opening Ceremony of the Joint University Eco-Business Innovation Award (eBIA) 2025–2026 was successfully held on 6 November at HKUST, drawing nearly 200 participants from various universities. The event featured an inspiring speech by Mr Alexander (Sandy) Main DUGGIE, 2nd  Vice Chairperson of BEAM Society Limited (BSL), who shared insights on advancing sustainable urban development through green building standards and community collaboration. Under the theme “Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Development,” the ceremony launched this year’s programme, encouraging students to develop innovative, nature-integrated solutions for future cities. The event also included a case competition briefing and group photo, marking an inspiring start to the 2025-2026 eBIA journey.
Green Building Award 2025 Presentation Dinner
13 November 2025
The Green Building Award 2025 (GBA 2025) Presentation Dinner was held on 13 November at the JW Marriott Ballroom, Hong Kong, celebrating excellence in sustainable building. Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC), and supported by BEAM Society Limited (BSL), the event recognised outstanding achievements contributing to a greener built environment. Ir Colin CHUNG Chi Leong, 1st Vice Chairperson of BSL, and Ir CS HO, Chief Executive Officer of BSL, joined the award presentation to celebrate the industry’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
BSL x CIWEM Technical Seminar
14 November 2025
BSL and School of The Technical Seminar – Introduction of BEAM Plus Existing Buildings v3.0 (EB v3.0) was held on 14 November, jointly organised by BEAM Society Limited (BSL) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). The seminar introduced BEAM Plus EB v3.0, highlighting its practical approach to improving energy efficiency, enhancing building performance, and supporting Hong Kong’s transition towards carbon neutrality.
Company Tour - Lau Shui Heung and Sha Tau Kok
15 November 2025
BEAM Society Limited (BSL) organised a one-day tour for colleagues to explore the scenic and cultural attractions of the New Territories. Participants visited Lau Shui Heung, where they appreciated the tranquil reservoir views and lush natural surroundings. They then travelled to Lau Fau Shan for a seafood lunch, enjoying local delicacies in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, before proceeding to Sha Tau Kok to learn about the district’s unique history and cultural heritage. The trip offered a delightful blend of nature, local flavours, and cultural discovery, making it a truly memorable experience for all.
HKIQEP 2025 Pledging Ceremony

The Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP) 2025 Pledging Ceremony was held on 19 November, bringing together organisations from Hong Kong’s environmental sector to reaffirm support for the HKIQEP Qualification. BEAM Society Limited (BSL) was proud to be among the pledging organisations, demonstrating its commitment to advancing professional standards and fostering excellence in the industry. Ir Colin CHUNG Chi Leong, 1st Vice Chairperson of BSL, attended the ceremony and joined industry representatives to support this meaningful occasion.
Hong Kong Green Building Professional Delegation Visit to Thailand
1-3 December 2025
BSL joined the Hong Kong Green Building Professional Delegation Visit to Thailand (香港綠色建築專業泰國考察代表), which gathered professionals from Hong Kong and Thailand to exchange insights on sustainable building and the BEAM Plus rating system. Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Bangkok of the HKSAR Government, Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and Business Environment Council (BEC) and funded by the “Professionals Participation Subsidy Programme” (PSP) of the PASS scheme under Commerce and Economic Development Bureau (CEDB) of the HKSAR Government, the three-day programme included a symposium-cum-luncheon, site visits to One Bangkok and Dusit Central Park, and meetings on green financing and policy collaboration.
CPD Training - EPD-MTR Joint Environmental Forum
4 December 2025
The CPD Webinar – EPD-MTR Joint Environmental Forum 2025, themed “Digitalisation and AI Application in Environmental Assessment and Biodiversity Studies,” was held on 4 December, featuring expert insights on how AI and digital tools can support environmental assessment and biodiversity conservation. Ms Caterina CHOI, Head of Development & Technical Secretariat of BEAM Society Limited (BSL) presented on Urban Farming and BEAM Plus Certification, emphasising the role of green building standards in fostering healthier, more sustainable urban environments.
