Launch of iBEAM (Phase 1)
Following the iBEAM Launch Ceremony (13 May 2021), BSL is pleased to announce that with a year of endeavour, the first phase of the state-of-the-art Assessment Automation System (“iBEAM”) is now launched. Functions available include document submission, online communication, reporting and finance. You can review the launching ceremony from the video below.
Applicants are welcome to make assessment submission for BEAM Plus New Buildings 2.0 via e-Form on iBEAM before it is made mandatory after 31 December 2021. Thereafter, Applicants must migrate to iBEAM. For details of such transitional arrangements, please refer to Current News page and Technical Circular Letter 2021.170.

Completed: iBEAM Xperience Studio
The iBEAM Xperience Studio was successfully held from 22 February to 5 March 2021. Participants were enabled to gain first-hand exclusive access to iBEAM to navigate the system thoroughly before the official roll-out.
The two-week event garnered encouraging responses from 55 participants in the industry. The participants provided valuable input towards the functionality, practicality and user experience on the iBEAM assessment platform, which will enable our development team to build an assessment automation system that will be welcomed by the industry.
Please stay tuned for the official roll-out on 13 May 2021, the details of which will be announced in due course.

Available Now: 3rd Stakeholder Engagement Workshop (Video and Questionnaire)
The 3rd Stakeholder Engagement Workshop was successfully held online on 30 November 2020, which recorded around 200 attendances.

Stakeholder Engagement
The iBEAM development team is hosting a series of stakeholder engagement events to solicit the views and feedback from different groups of stakeholders. This enables the iBEAM system to function in accordance with the stakeholders' expectations. All comments are carefully reviewed and incorporated onto the iBEAM system to ensure a top notch user experience.

No. iBEAM is not just for NB v2.0. It will eventually be applicable for all BEAM Plus Assessment Tools (Tools). NB v2.0 is being roll out in the initial stage to cope with the foreseeable high demand of NB v2.0 submission. It is planned to enable iBEAM for other assessment tools by stages.
Yes. Applicants for BEAM Plus NB v2.0 projects are allowed to prepare the assessment submission through e-Form and make assessment submission by means of either FTP or CD-ROM until 31 December 2021. Thereafter, only assessment submission via iBEAM will be accepted by BSL.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to migrate to iBEAM for such projects as early as possible. For details of related transitional arrangements, please refer to this Current News page.
The system will initially provide access right to (a) 1 Project Administrator, (b) 1 Project BEAM Pro, (c) 12 Active Projects Users and (d) 36 Project Users. This setup balances between practicality and account maintenance.
No. To secure the data integrity of the e-Forms, data being edited by one user will be locked to prevent crossed-editing of same data on the e-Forms or else at any one time. But multiple-access for “viewing only” will be allowed when a particular user is editing the e-Form.
Yes. iBEAM will automatically generate a report upon completion of assessment. Users can retrieve the summary report anytime to review their results.
No. Currently, there are no limitations on the number of queries per project. Users could raise their queries via iBEAM at any time.
A Comprehensive iBEAM User Guide has been developed for users to learn more about various system functions. The preparation of a series of online tutorials is also underway – please stay tuned!
An account has already been created for all active BEAM Pro. Please follow the steps below to reset your password:
1. Visit iBEAM at https://ibeam.hk
2. Choose “No account? Register now!”
3. Enter your BEAM Pro email address registered with HKGBC
4. Use the password in the account activation email to set up your account
5. Set up a new password and edit your account attributes upon your first login
