Co-organised by BSL, Business Environment Council and Hong Kong Green Building Council, the Green Building Initiatives towards Achieving Carbon Neutrality Seminar was successfully held with the presence of Mr David LAM Chi-man, JP, Under Secretary for Development of the Government of the HKSAR as the officiating guest. At the seminar, Ir CS HO, General Manager of BSL gave a talk titled “BEAM Plus Latest Developments and the Global Version” to the audience from the property and facility management sector.

BSL participated in the Eco Expo Asia 2024 jointly organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, and co-organised by Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of HKSAR, as the supporting organisation. During the four-day fair, BSL engaged with more than 400 visitors, giving them an overview of the BEAM Plus assessment tools.

BSL delegation paid a visit to the R·INNO of REC Engineering Company Limited (REC), an innovation hub that showcases the latest IoT applications in smart building and property management, sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration among the visitors. Ms Carmen WONG, General Manager of REC shared insights on implementing industry-leading solutions at the event, from iFCU Intelligent Fan Coil Unit, AI Energy Optimisation Solution, and IoT Connectivity Solution to other smart technologies.

BSL organised a tour to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden for members to explore the conserved area and learn about its ‘saving and recycling’ core strategies. In this tour, members also got to know the innovative Wetland Wastewater Treatment System with no discharge of effluent or wastewater into the stream.

Co-organised by Environmental Protection Department of the Government of the HKSAR and MTR Corporation Limited, the EPD-MTR Joint Environmental Forum was successfully held online with the contribution of several speakers discussing topics such as BEAM Plus assessment, construction noise management, decarbonisation and environmental management. Ir CS HO, General Manager of BSL was one of the speakers who provided insight into “BEAM Plus Global - Empowering Built Environment Globally to Advance its Sustainability Practices”.
