Greater Bay Area Urban Design Awards 2026: Call for Nominations

BEAM Society Limited (BSL) is pleased to announce its support for the Greater Bay Area Urban Design Awards (GBA Urban Design Awards) 2026.

Organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD),with the support of the other four Founding Institutes of the Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance - CURB Center for Architecture and Urbanism – Macau, Guangzhou Urban Planning Association, Urban Planning Society of Shenzhen and Zhuhai Planning Exploration and Design Industry Association, this biennial event celebrates excellence in urban design across the region and strives to improve cross boundary collaboration, develop joint standards and accreditation, and promote the value of quality urban design in improving livability within the Greater Bay Area.

The Awards aim to elevate urban design standards within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) by recognising outstanding projects, research, and publications. By fostering collaboration among urban designers, architects, engineers, and other professionals, the event strives to improve livability and promote high-quality sustainable development throughout the GBA.

Award Categories

The GBA Urban Design Awards 2026 feature two main streams:

• Professional Category:
• Completed Projects
• Completed Projects – Urban Intervention
• Planned Projects
• Research & Publication
• Student Category

Key Dates

Urban design professionals and organisations are invited to submit their nominations according to the following schedule:

• Nomination Period: 11 March 2026 – 12 June 2026
• Submission Deadline: 12 June 2026 at 3:00pm (HK Time)
• Awards Adjudication: July - August 2026
• Result Announcement: October – November 2026
• Awards Presentation Ceremony (Hong Kong): October – November 2026
