Overview of BEAM Plus Data Centres with Case Sharing for Government Data Centre Complex – Provisional Gold under BEAM Plus New Data Centres Version 1.0 (Pilot Version)
With the representatives from Architectural Services Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and WSP (Asia) Limited, BSL hosted a CPD webinar “Overview of BEAM Plus Data Centres (DC) with Case Sharing for Government Data Centre Complex – Provisional Gold under BEAM Plus New Data Centres Version 1.0 (Pilot Version)” on 24 Aug 2022, which attracted over 750 participants to learn about BEAM Plus DC v1.0, green initiatives adopted in Government Data Centre Complex, as well as the new editions of Code of Practice for Energy Efficiency of Building Services Installation, Code of Practice for Building Energy Audit and Energy Efficiency Registration Scheme for Buildings.

iBEAM Unison Agreement Signing Ceremony with Construction Industry Council (CIC)
BSL signed an agreement of the research “iBEAM Unison – Data Unification Platform to Enhance the Integrity of Environmental and Sustainability Data in Design and Construction Processes” under the CIC Research and Technology Development Fund with CIC.
Under the witness of Ar Daniel SUEN, Director - Industry Development of CIC; Sr Frankie SO, 1st Vice Chairperson of BSL and Convenor of iBEAM Project Steering Committee; Ir Colin CHUNG, 2nd Vice Chairperson of BSL; Ms Eva WONG, Hon. Secretary of BSL; Dr Benny CHOW, Director of BSL and Convenor of iBEAM Unison Project Working Group, the Agreement was signed by Mr Alex HO, Assistant Director - Industry Development of CIC; Ir CS HO, General Manager of BSL and Mr Tim LO, Head of System Development of BSL. BSL will be hosting more stakeholder workshops and focus groups on the development of iBEAM Unison in the near future, stay tuned!

How to Give Your Tree a Second Life - Yard Waste Recycling Centre (Y·PARK)

Dr Keith LAI, Senior Environmental Protection Officer of Environmental Protection Department, and Ir Emily WONG, Manager - Project Assessment of BSL delivered a talk covering how the yard waste recycling services offered by Y·PARK can help enhance healthy maintenance of the landscaping and gardening areas of the new buildings with the benefits to building users, as well as the relevant BEAM Plus assessment requirements.

Technical Visit to Canadian International School of Hong Kong

Around 30 delegates of BSL, including our Chairperson – Mr HK LI paid a visit to BEAM Plus Interiors v1.0 Platinum Project – Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS). Ir Nelson TAM, Director of Telemax Environmental and Energy Management Limited showcased the green features in the school to the participants in the visit.

Talk for Maintenance Surveying Graduates of Architectural Services Department and Housing Department

The talk covered an array of topics ranging from green building and sustainability, introduction of BSL, BEAM Plus assessment and training programmes to environmental technology.
